Wow! I can totally relate! People seem to think that I can explain the whole flaming queen behavior thing, too. Like you said, just because they can smell dick on your breath, they think you know all about everything gay. LOL I’ve never understood the Nelly Thang…no offense to the Nellies out there…but it just never worked for me. The bitchy, campy thing is just plain rude and obnoxious. I love men…MEN, I say…and swishing out is the quickest way to slip my attention in another direction. Okay…okay….so I can hear those Californians screaming about how very un-P.C. I’m being…but I’m from Montana, so I don’t have to be P.C. Okay…now to climb back up on my horse and wait for the hate mail to start flowing….
Zilla, every time I’ve hung out with you if it weren’t for the pink shoes, I would, from a distance, probably mistaken you for someone who is almost chronically straight. And, for the most part, you are about the least nelly sounding podcaster on your show UNTIL … you were on with John Ong. With John, you seemed almost smittenly nelly — but it was kind of tender (especially since Ong is a very nice person). Nonetheless, you’ve always seemed to be sincerely you — and that’s a good thing.
Either way, your a good guy and straight acting or nelly acting are neither bad. You are what you are and that’s cool with me.
I listened to this cast on the way to work this morning and thought it was a really good one! The whole nelly vs. straight acting gay thing has never sat well with me, cause I usually look past it. I’ve had very straight acting bf’s and very nelly ones, so either way makes no difference to me. However, I think there is a time and place for being nelly such as hanging out with the “girls,” having a few drinks. It used to really annoy me to hear my nelly ex turning the flames on first thing in the morning, but otherwise it isn’t an issue to me.

I love you just the way you are you straight-acting pussy.
Your effeminate BF
