PENTOBARBITAL (not to be confused with Phenobarbital)……This is a real coma inducing drug used in many hospitals. The drug is often used on many ICU patients that have been victims of trauma, cerebral bleeds, and brain surgery. It’s purpose is exactly would you stated…to induce healing.
It would not be to fun to do recreationally. You would probably kill yourself. It does not take very much of the drug to induce coma. You also have to be intubated to breath.

I know all about comas as had a few family members slip in one naturally and a friend had one induced not to long ago with limited but good sucess.
